And the Oscar Goes to…

IMAG0725

Today I am reminded how lucky and thankful I am to have close girlfriends to share the annual tradition of watching the Oscars together for over 25 years.  It’s always a fun, laughter-filled night….especially when I win!!

The Perfect Saturday

Today I’m grateful for two things:  1.  a relaxing afternoon laying in the sun and reading in the park with my husband and

2.  being married to a guy who doesn’t hesitate to drag himself out of bed at 10:00 at night to take me to get cake.

Everything’s Better with Bacon

IMAG0710

I’m grateful for free Friday Breakfasts for faculty at my school….even if the only thing I can actually enjoy is the bacon.

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

IMAG0707

I’m thankful when I find examples of creative recycling being used.  Less glass in a land-fill is always a good thing.

The Little Things

Sometimes it’s the little things that really make me the most grateful….like the convenience of elevators.

After introducing my 4th grade students to the surreal world of Rene Magritte, I’m thankful that they really got in to the lesson and amazed me with their creative ideas.

The Power of Bubbles

Since being near death’s door for the past 4 days, I have been very grateful for many things (unfortunately, I wasn’t able to capture them all in photos):

  • – modern medicine, because I’m fairly certain that 200 years ago people would have died from whatever I had this weekend!
  • – my husband, who has been an excellent nurse and taken good care of me (even though he buys the wrong kind of Jell-O).
  • – and today, I’m thankful for a long, hot bubble bath that made me feel human again.

Hearts and Flowers

I’m so lucky and grateful to have a husband who spoils me.  On Valentine’s Day and every other day of the year.

As I succumb to yet another sinus infection, I am grateful for Kleenex and their tissues.
